Welcome to Siem Reap, Cambodia

If we hear about Siem Reap, the first tourism object that we know must be Angkor Wat complex. This temple is the famous tourism object in this city. But, Siem Reap not only have that temple. For this time, I will share my experience when I visited another tourism object in Siem Reap.

1.  Wat Preah Prom Rath
Wat Preah Prom Rath is located on Pokambor Avenue. It is an active monastery and open to the public from sunrise to sunset. We don't need to pay to enter this place. The compound of Wat Preah Prom Rath is an extraordinary colorful. The glittering pagoda is surrounded by well maintained gardens with palm trees and decorative sculpture. There are also benches for sitting and resting.

2. Wat bo
Wat Bo is one of the oldest pagodas in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is a peaceful place to escape and take a break from touring the major temple sites of nearby Angkor. It is also contains a large collection of Buddha statues that you will find behind the main Buddha. We can see a number of colorful stupas, some interesting murals (inside the main of pagoda) and a mixture of the region's religious architecture. We can visit this place for free.

3. Killing Field (Wat Thmey)
There are over 18000 killing fields in Cambodia. The famous one is in Phnom Penh. But we can also find the small one in Siem Reap. Killing Field or Wat Thmey is a live monastery where a large Stupa memorial can be found. The stupa has glass sides filled with the skulls and bones those who died during the Khmer Rouge. These have been diligently gathered by local residents in memory of their families and friends. Today, the monastery serves as an orphanage and school that is often visited by several tour buses. It is free to visit.

For swimming pool, the visitor can use it on the rooftop from 6am until 10pm. We can see the sunset view here. I enjoyed this pool after day trip to Angkor Wat. It made me relax and fresh, because the weather in Siem Reap was so hot at that time. Its almost 38 degrees every day.

This hostel also has shared lounge on the first floor. It looks like a place for meeting point with another visitor. We can talking, laughing or just laying our body in this lounge.

Another advantage staying in this hostel was the location. It was near with Night Market and Pub Street. The visitor just need walking to arrive at this places.
